CHARITABLE CAUSES WE SUPPORT
Caring for Our Community
The Skaneateles Lions Club raises and contributes money to local, regional, and sometimes broader worthy causes. The Club provided free eye exams and glasses to several individuals in need in our community; 3000+ pairs of used eye glasses gathered by Club members and provided via Lions International to the needy in developing countries. All funds we raise from the general public are used for charitable purposes. Administrative costs are kept strictly separate and paid for by Club members.
Through Fundraising efforts and donations, the Skaneateles Lions have been able to provide much needed support to the following local recipient organizations:
Community Food Pantries
Skaneateles Volunteer Fire Department
Matthews House Hospice
High School After the Ball
Honduras Eye Life Program (HELP)
Camp Badger (summer camp for special needs children)
3 BOCES Scholarships
Skaneateles Historical Society
Lions Screen Eyes Early (SEE)
Vera House (victims of domestic violence)
Community Band
Leader Dog
Gavras Center (Auburn NY) for victims of cerebral palsy
Scholarship for Community Service
Nursing Scholarship
Aurora of Central New York
Skaneateles Out Reach
